In February 2007, my beloved Chicago Bears were headed to the Super Bowl and I knew I had to go. I couldn't afford the $4,000 to buy a ticket, so I knew I had to get creative. I auctioned myself off on eBay as a "date" to the Super Bowl. I was hoping a radio station or company might see the PR stunt and give me a ticket. EBay took the auction down, but not before my story became a bit of a national phenomenon. The people from Axe male grooming products called me less than 48 hours after my eBay ad went up and offered me 4 tickets to the game-three for me and my girlfriends and one for a lucky contest winner who would be our "date" to the Super Bowl. After reading over 1300 email entries, I selected a winner. In the week before the game and in the days following it, I did over 60 radio, TV and newspaper interviews. That year, Axe's PR company, Edelman, won runner up for campaign of the year for getting on board with my adventure. Below are links to some of the stories about my Super Bowl quest!
